Cold is a necessary evil that we have to succumb to and it is not a full fledge illness just another immunity booster. But with it, comes the blocked nose, sinuses and headache and gulping down bitter cough cold medicines. A good steam inhalation session can bring some relief though it is not a cure.

Steps in Inhaling Steam Effectively

  1. You can just boil water and slowly breath into the steam but there are steam vaporizers and steam inhaler available in market that make steam inhalation much easier.
  2. Cover your head with a cotton towel or cloth/dupatta while inhaling the steam, this prevents from steam from spreading.
  3. Repeat as necessary.
  4. You can add inhaling capsules or Vicks VapoRub for additional relief, but for children prefer only plain water.

Be cautious with temperature : Never use boiling water directly on your face or nasal passages, as it can cause serious burns.
